Client Background

Winnersh Triangle is a business park in Reading and has recently been awarded both a Fitwel and GRESB accreditations for its wellbeing and sustainability programme across the park.  Our work with the park involved both a living wall outside as an immediate welcome to the park, and one in the reception area inside along with planters.

The entrance

Following our work with ASA Landscape Architects at The Exchange, Chineham Park (which you can see here), we were brought on board to complete the exterior living wall, designed to hold steel signage with the name of the business park on.  This forms a unique entrance to the park and we look forward to seeing it establish more over the next few weeks!

Interior planters

The other part of our work on the site was inside. For this part (which we treated as a separate project) we worked with Scott Osborn Ltd, who specialise in high quality refurbishment works. This involved planters throughout the reception area, with some being used to create a partition between the main reception and seating area.

More planters

There is also another set of planters running the length of the wall behind a benched seating area.  This was designed to make it look as though the plants are growing out of the top of the benches.

The internal living wall

The other piece of interior planting was the living wall behind the reception desk.  This is angled around the wall, which our modular system is perfect for as it allows us to work on curved surfaces.

Lighting requirements

There wasn’t a lot of natural light here which meant we ensured the right lighting was placed above the planting to ensure the correct growing conditions.
