Client Background

Kildare Village is home to 100 boutiques, next to the town of Kildare which is famed for its tradition of thoroughbred horse breeding and racing.  The design of the shopping village is inspired by this, creating an intimate and tranquil setting.  Our work was with our certified partner, designing and installing the living walls around the carpark for the centre.

All natural

Working with our certified partner in Ireland, Living Walls Ltd, we helped design the natural green walls that were to wrap around the car park for the shopping village.

Living art

The brief was clear: to completely transform the car park with a design that was 3-dimensional, with lots of plant varieties that created something that was full of life and seasonal interest.  Essentially, create a piece of living art.

Largest living wall in Ireland

So, that is just what our design team and certified partners did.  This is now the largest living wall in Ireland, with 59 different species of plants and 58,944 plants altogether.

Supporting local biodiversity with living walls

Not only do the living walls enhance the area, but they also blend into the surroundings through the use of native (local) species, and significantly improve the biodiversity of the local area.
