A luxurious green wall with subtle differences in colour and a sense of something fresh

“Deloitte” is the brand under which tens of thousands of dedicated professionals in independent firms throughout the world collaborate to provide audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management, tax, and related services to select clients. With offices all over the UK, Viritopia were very pleased to be commissioned in February 2014 to design and install a large preserved moss wall art, in one of Deloitte’s key offices in Edinburgh.

Introducing rich colour

Deloitte’s décor in the circulation areas is pretty crisp and corporate, and the concept was to give two floors of the office a sense of togetherness, as well as introducing some rich colour to the largely monochrome surroundings.

Preserved Moss

We chose a natural moss that has been preserved. It maintains a very faint scent, but needs absolutely zero water or power to keep it alive. So, while the moss wall runs the height and length of the stairwell, totalling 36m2, it was remarkably quick to install. It’s extremely lightweight, so no additional structural support was needed, and of course there are no ongoing maintenance costs.  The result is a luxurious green wall with subtle differences in colour and a sense of something fresh, touchable and tangible for staff to enjoy as they move from one floor to another.
