Spain

Whilst Spain is renowned worldwide for its architects and architecture, sustainable architecture and green infrastructure is relatively new to the market.  Whilst many cities are quite green due to the natural areas that surround it, once you go downtown, they become concrete jungles where nature has been constructed out and replaced with purely functional, man-made structures to cater for the growing population.  But are these spaces really being built for the people?

Green spaces are so important for our mental health and well-being and whilst space is scarce in our cities, there is huge potential to turn the grey to green.

Partnering with Segura e Hijos, a family business with more than 50 years of experience in the construction materials distribution business, we're going to be turning Spain's urban areas green one building at a time.

The third generation of the Segura family is about to take the leadership of the company, and therefore a new vision of the business is breaking through.

"We are very much concerned about the climate change, so we are developing a new branch of the company focused on sustainability, construction energetic efficiency, renewable energies and healthy products, and here is where Viritopia's experience fits perfectly."
